So SPOILERS I chose to help Amyro to escape. He showed me the underground tunnel and all, which seems to have cancelled out my ability to escape by any other means. Problem is, I'm trapped! The tunnel leads to a prison full of locked doors. Not only have I already wasted every lockpick on the island by this point, but the actual door out is lvl 2.
My lockpick is lvl 1 and there is nothing left on the island to give me xp. Seems like kind of a horrible design decision to force the player to take one path and then require a specific skill (Which you can't be sure they have) to actually proceed.
Summary: (Also known as 'Necro-Nesia') Escape from Bug Island is a 3rd person survival-horror game that takes a quirky, creepy.
Now I have to restart and I just don't feel like it. Nice game, but maybe I'll try again when it's fully released and all these little 'gotchas' have been ironed out. You can bash open all the prison cell doors, and if you can't open the door that leads into the main hall, you can find a key on a stool where the magisters who are interrogating the poor fellow on the ground.
If that fight is too difficult for you, you can safely sneak up and nab the key from the stool without fighting. Concerning the door that has the crying statue behind it. I have no idea; but you don't necessarily need to go that way to progress and escape the prison. There are also other ways to get out of the fort you can discover by talking to other characters around Fort Joy.
If you have the teleportation gloves, you can teleport up onto the balcony of the fort, and use a key from Magister Yarrow's quesline to get inside that way. Problem is, I'm trapped! There are a few things wrong with this.1. There are a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ of ways to escape from the camp I've counted 7 (6.5ish?) personally, but I believe I read somehwere that there are over 10.
Very few of them are mutually exclusive. I know because I was trying to find all the things in the game with one of my characters, and I've discovered/used 5 different exits on that one already.2. The key to the stairs leading up i sitting on a stool at the end of the hall, near all the dudes arguing.3. You're never truely trapped.
This is why the game auto-saves regularly.4. That is not the way out.
Its simply a way into the castle (which has approximately a bajillion other entraces). Its an important step to escaping, but not always a necessary one. Of all the ways I know of to escape the western half of the island (7), 5 of them require you to enter the castle, but only one of them requires you enter the dungeon. The dungeon always makes it easier, and its the only way into the castle if you're not going to cheese teleporting, but its not necessary.5. If you're willing to look around you'll be shocked at how much exp is sitting around waiting for you. You can get damn close to level 4 (if not fully attain it) before you enter the dungeon/castle.
20Cave of TimeBonus Conditions. Kill 20 Flies. Kill 20 Maggots. Kill Beelzebub in under 2 minutes.1.
It won't be here if you broke it the last time you were in the Cave of Time but if you have enough Purple Fragments, this box contains the Death Scythe. If you stop or loose your balance on the rock bridge up ahead you'll likely be knocked off by a falling rock and fall to your death.2. Make your way over here and climb down. Just make sure you're done killing monsters and collecting goodies from the various boxes because once you drop down you can't climb back up.3. The big boss is coming up. You can save your game at the candle if you want.
Meet Michelle over by the wall, watch the cut—scene, and get ready to fight the big monster!Powerful as they are, projectile weapons and Grenades are not recommended because the Flies keep getting in your line of fire.Run over to Beelzebub (you'll probably step on about 10 maggots en route, zig zag a bit on the way over to squish 20) and start swinging at her big purple butt with your most powerful weapon. Flies constantly get in your way so you'll rack up 20 kills easily, especially if you killed a few in the previous rooms. You'll get knocked on your butt a few times but that's okay. Watch your health, eat a health restoring item if need be and keep hacking away.
You'll get her eventually. It's difficult but entirely possible to kill Beelzebub in less than two minutes even without the Death Scythe or the Red Pendant. Just keep hitting her as much as you can, as fast as you can.Once Beelzebub is down for the count, escort Michelle towards the cave's entrance. She's really slow so if you lose her, go back and wait for her to catch her breath before continuing.
Luckily, all the monsters are gone and you only have to take her to the halfway point ('2' on the map).
